Phobias

Agoraphobia

Agoraphobia is the fear of being in a place where the person can't easily escape from, or where they can't readily get help in the event of a panic attack. People with agoraphobia commonly can't handle being in a large crowd. They can feel unsafe in airplanes, trains, lines, sporting events, shopping malls and other places where they feel trapped. Quite often, it gets so bad that the person is afraid to leave their home, which is the only safe haven in their mind. Through the use of hypnosis, agoraphobia can be treated and the patient can learn to ease their anxiety when in a situation that heightens their agoraphobia.

Claustrophobia

Claustrophobia is one of the most common phobias. It is the fear of being in a confined space. Sufferers may experience symptoms in small rooms, crawl spaces, crowds and many other situations. A person may not realize they are claustrophobic until they have to go for a necessary MRI test, in which they are extremely confined. Some of the symptoms when experiencing claustrophobia can be sweating, shaking or even heart palpitations. The person feels trapped and is in a panic. Claustophobia can severely limit your lifestyle, causing you to miss out on things that may involve crowds, elevators, or any type of confined space. Hypnosis is a very useful tool in helping sufferers deal with their claustrophobia and lead a normal lifestyle.
